Acne Dermatologist?

I am embarrassed and afraid to ask my mother to take me to the Dermatlogists office. I have mild acne on my chest and some on my back and face but not too bad. the one downside is that I am a swimmer so everyone always sees my body and has to look at my acne. What should I say to her when I ask her??? How did you ask your parents to take you to the Derm. and what did they say??

First...How can you be embarrassed? You are a swimmer and should be proud of that. Having competed in many open water swims, I know the conditioning and commitment it takes.
Just think of acne as another challenge-another race.
You have to start the race, before you can finish it.

YES. U should not wear make up. If u go with make up, hw will the dermatologist come to know the cause of ur problem. Usually make up will completely change our face, reducing the real problems of the face.
omg I also want to know this! I've researched around and I couldn't really find a CREAM. there are treatments though. like laser, but supposedly they don't COMPLETELY take away the dents
I have had acne for years and tried everything.The best thing I found was fibre and lots of water. I drink at least two litres a day. You have to pee a lot but it's better than acne.

I’ve been able to keep my acne under control for what seems like forever. One year into a PhD program, and I think that I should be seeking some professional help. That, plus I have health insurance as a graduate student (yay). But, there are sooooo many MDs. Any recommendations?

acne sucks. and for some reason some people never get it. for those who never had it, i only wish you get something before you die. when parents give there kids any kind of sickness or acne or anything, and they never had this, its there fault. no matter what. no matter anything. if its – c f. down syd- any genetic illness. anything, its there fault. more so if they never had these. you have a right to hate, or dislike.
my dermatologist used cetahpil to clear up my acne, it works really good. the acne goes away fasttttt
edit: i'm sorry i meant to say differin istead of cetaphil lol. cetaphil is the face wash my dermatologist recommened, not the actual treatment. haha sorry

personally i tried proactive and acne free but what really works the best on my skin is clearasil ultra =]
